Our top suggestions for activity retreats
We draw inspiration from our rich heritage everywhere we look, from the smallest of features to our expansive green spaces. Activity retreats like outdoor cooking, scything, foraging, painting, yoga, geological tours, cycling tours and wall building are a great success at Papple. We recommend a minimum stay of three nights.
Fun for everyone
There’s a myriad of fun activities at Papple, try rounders or croquet, explore the woods and wild meadows. There’s so much to discover locally – surfing school, wild swimming, hiking in the Lammermuirs, mountain biking, fishing, wildlife cruises and a visit to see Concorde at the Museum of Flight.
Discover East Lothian and the Lammermuir Hills
The John Muir Way is renowned for miles of scenic paths, ideal for walking and cycling. Canoeing, kayaking and wakeboarding can be enjoyed close by, and golf is available on some of our most revered courses, a short distance away. The Lammermuir Hills offer a great escape into nature.
Here to help
We have deliberately chosen not to offer activity packages to avoid creating a “product”. Every activity retreat we host is bespoke to the organiser. We cherish the creativity and delivery of each one.
