Our location offers the perfect setting to escape the crowds and truly focus on what matters to you and your business. Think-tank sessions, creative workshops, leadership retreats, bespoke dining, castings and product launches are the kind of events we welcome.

Accommodation
Each of our 10 bedrooms exude the same exquisite quality, with rich natural fabrics including Harrison Spinks’ beds with vegan duvets, pillows and pure cotton sheets. Many of the contemporary room furnishings are produced responsibly by local makers, chosen for their exceptional quality of craftsmanship.
The bedrooms are contained within four adjacent buildings namely The Farmhouse, Grieve’s cottage and the two Bothies. The bedrooms are all ensuite, except for two bedrooms in Grieve’s cottage that share a private bathroom. The spacious layout of Papple is ideal to bring colleagues together without compromising on space.
Activities
Walking, rambling in Papple Wood, our forest garden and in our wildflower meadow. Area suits cycling, hill walking, climbing, water sports and golf.
Meetings & private events
The Farmhouse is the meeting hub of Papple. It’s home to the grand dining room, a charming space to host business events and unique dining experiences. The library, drawing room and wellness studio make for impressive break-out rooms, by their very nature they encourage discussion and thought.
Unique to Papple is one Gigabit of hyper fast broadband delivered on a direct fibre line and distributed to all rooms. Ideal for streaming, video calling and downloading. The connection is so good we welcomed a Hollywood producer who chose Papple to complete all the editing and post production on a soon-to-be released movie.
Our partnership with award winning Buck and Birch
We’re proud to partner with Buck and Birch, an award winning private event caterer local to East Lothian. They cater to the most discerning of palates, and create sensational food and drink offerings using diverse flavours harvested from the wild.
Time to play
We’ve created the perfect playground to recharge and recalibrate from the day’s business. Papple Steading sits in six acres of green space encompassing a beautifully manicured lawn, paddock and ancient woodland.
Start the day with a little self-care, a sunrise yoga session on the lawn. Escape the boardroom for a quick game of rounders or croquet followed by a picnic lunch in the paddock. The cart shed is home to table football and table tennis – great for an energy boost.
Head into the woodland and discover boardwalks, bridges and follies used as hides for spotting a myriad of wildlife, it’s the ideal spot to connect with nature and enjoy some peace.
The firepit and log seats by the mystical ruins of Papple Convent are a fabulous setting for marshmallow toasting, relaxation and conversation. The wider grounds extend by 18 acres of wildflower meadow and woodland, perfect for hiking and exploration.
Nearby is The John Muir Country Park renowned for its expansive sandy beaches, enchanting small towns and pretty harbours. Canoeing, kayaking and wakeboarding can be enjoyed close by. Golf enthusiasts delight at the close proximity of the world-famous links courses. There are miles of scenic paths in the wider area, ideal for walking and cycling.
With so many things to do near Papple, make sure to plan some time outside of the boardroom.
