Our team has a wonderfully creative and varied background. We each bring our unique personality and set of values to the business. The common thread we all share is the desire to create exceptional experiences for our guests. We want you to feel at home at Papple.
What you can expect
We’re passionate about authentic Scottish hospitality, abundant in charm and warmth, set in a luxury steading. Providing exceptional service with rigorous attention to detail, and the utmost discretion are key values for us.
Verity is our super helpful, creative, practical – nothing phases her – Manager. She’ll assist with your reservation and all the necessary arrangements, and she’ll be part of the welcome team on your arrival. With a background in catering, theatre and geology Verity makes the magic happen at Papple.
Assistant Manager and Artist-in-Residence
Giles is a graduate of the Edinburgh School of Art, a time-served stonemason, and quite literally – our rock. His creative talent can be seen all around Papple in our boundary walls and sculptures. He’s a keen cyclist, paddler and dog lover. Quite simply a super chap.
Eri is the style police at Papple. Her eye for detail is second-to-none. With a background in law she’s now a busy mum to three wonderful children. Eri keeps a keen eye on her husband’s developments at the steading, and enjoys studying and savouring good wine.
George grew up in Scotland, a farmer’s son. After a successful career in London it would become his mission to save a steading. He’s a self-taught (read a few books) agricultural historian, terribly modest and a “fourth age” visionary, who’s become a pretty handy tractor driver.
